Aging Adults Want to Live at Home

According to a recent study by AARP, “in the next 20 years, the number of adults age 65 and older will nearly double in the United States. Many of these people will reject high-priced institutional care and, instead, will continue to live in the community, even if they have one or more disabilities.”

The choice to stay in one’s home may be important to a senior’s financial health as well as their physical and mental health. Seniors’ familiarity with their home, their community and their day-to-day routine, says AARP, “can play a pivotal role in successful aging.”

But with the rising cost of traditional long-term care insurance, and the complicated criteria that must be met to trigger the policy, many seniors are opting not to purchase long-term care policies.

So what’s the alternative? ASSI’s True Freedom membership plans are service contracts – not insurance policies – that offer true guaranteed, hassle-free acceptance. Our plans offer flexible service hours, and our services always include a combination of home care services and adult daycare / companion services plus a complimentary Discount Medical Plan.
